The best movie I’ve watched this year thus far: The Avengers!
22 of us went for the movie, boy we actually occupied 2 full rows!

A group of our favourtie superheroes / humans with extraordinary power and skills have been rounded up by Nick Fury in an attempt to save the world from Asgardian Loki and the Chitauri army. The movie was swarming with our regular superheroes and packed with humor. There wasn’t a dull moment throughout the entire 2 hour odd and it’s interesting watching these marvel characters interact and fight together.

Captain America (Steven Rogers)
The Super-Soldier Serum enhanced Steve Rogers’ body to the peak of a human. He is an expert in hand-to-hand combat and a master in strategies and military operations. He uses his shield as a weapon. In The Avengers, I guess he is still trying to pick up the fact that it’s a totally new world he’s now living in and as usual, the calm and composed one who plans and leads at times.

Iron Man (Anthony “Tony” Stark)
His suit is the primary source of his powers. But of course he’s the creator of his suit. And wherever the genius Tony Stark is around, there are bound to be a dazzling state-of-the-art facilities, jaw-dropping technology and of course narcissistic dialogues that has us laughing. Seeing Iron Man working hand in hand with the other superheroes was really refreshing because he had to learn how to work as a team instead of always having everything revolve around himself.

Black Widow (Natalie Romanova/ Natasha Romanoff)
She is lethal. Of course in comparison to the others who all were either gods or have really awesome weapons, she seems common and useless. Besides all the extraordinary human abilities, she is an expert marksman, talented hacker and can put her flirtation skills to the maximum use deceiving men and getting the information she needs. Scarlet Johnansson really kicked ass in the movie!

Hawkeye (Clinton Barton)
He is an expert marksman, extremely accurate and skilled with his bow and arrow. In The Avengers, Hawkeye was held hostage by Loki subconsciously and made to work for him. Luckily at the end of it, he regained his mind and will and battled alongside the superheroes to bring down the enemies.

Hulk (Dr Robert Bruce Banner)
When he’s Dr Banner, he’s like any regular good guy. When the adrenaline rush kicks in, he is the incredible hulk. In The Avengers, everyone wants his help and yet everyone is afraid of the terror they might unleash and the consequences thereafter. I would say that the hulk really surprised me. He was a delight to watch, especially when he was trashing Loki, it was superb!

Thor (Thor Odinson)
So weird that the god is fighting alongside with the superheroes. Obviously Thor would have superhuman speed, strength, agility, fighting skills and etc. The Mjolnir Thor possess is also his essential weapon! In The Avengers, Thor is torn between the love for his brother and subduing him.

I think this is the 1st superhero movie I’ve watched and laughed so hard. Everything from the characters, to the storyline, to the CGI are fabulous. Btw, do stay after the credits to catch a lil something extra!
